Having gained an audience through my new friends at On the Fence Voters, I'm now ready to return to my own site and--I hope--bring that audience with me. I deeply appreciate the opportunity Jeff and Greg gave me in publishing my dozens of posts on their OTFV site. Their graciousness is especially noteworthy because they do not share my evangelical belief system. Over the last year, as I placed posts on the OTFV site and conversed with my new friends there, I've found that my agnostic friends often are more gracious and openminded than my evangelical friends. Perhaps that might change...
I met--virtually, not in person--Jeff following the publication of my first article on The Culture Crush, nearly a year ago. My article chronicled the marriage of evangelical Christianity and the Republican Party and warned of the dangers of such a union. Jeff's companion piece for that Culture Crush issue was titled Under the Influence, and it took a hard, in-depth look at religious snake-oil salesmen in general and Donald Trump specifically. Jeff has a special gift for political analysis, and I am grateful for the opportunity I've had to share some of my thoughts alongside his at On the Fence Voters. If you'd like to read any of those many posts--mine or his--click on the link and have a look.
Now, as I return to this site, my first focus will be on sharing chapters of my new book manuscript--tentatively titled "End This Wicked Marriage"--and soliciting your critiques for improvement. To that end, my next post will be chapter 1, "How He Caught Her Eye," of "End This Wicked Marriage."
