A Terrifingly Plausible Scenario

It's Only Fiction. But...
It's Only Fiction. But...

“So, everyone agrees, right?” Peter Theil asks as he glances around the room, waiting for a nod or a spoken “yes” of affirmation.

Sitting directly to the right of Theil is Curtis Yarvin, whose only indication of his assent is the slight upturn of his taciturn mouth. As the primary architect of the plan, Yarvin’s approval was a given. But Yarvin’s seemingly expressionless stare says everything anyone needs to know about him. Objective Uber Alles.

“Just one more thing,” Zuckerberg says as each of the billionaires rises and stretches to work out the kinks following the two-hour-long planning session. Informal discussions resume.

Vance, still seated, just to the left of Theil, looks up at Zuckerberg, eyebrows raised in wonder. “Okay,” Vance says, followed by a brief, pregnant pause.

Zuckerberg exhales heavily, purses his lips, and matches Vance’s eyebrow gesture as he avers, “I’m still not fully convinced that we can trust Melania.”

“Men, can we reconvene?” Theil asks, rhetorically.

Most return to their seats; a few remain standing, curiosity evident in their expressions.

Theil, appearing somber yet impatient, states, “Mark is still concerned about whether we can trust Melania. What do you think, men?”

“I agree with Mark,” Bezos replies. “We can’t be too careful.”

“I must admit that I’ve been second-guessing my objections on that matter,” Schwarzman adds. “I hereby change my vote. We should include Melania.”

Only someone looking closely could see the glint in Yarvin’s eyes, indicating his approval of the turning tide.

“Can we vote again on including Melania in the accident?” Theil asks.

A few minutes later...

“Well,” Vance says, nodding. “We’ve managed a unanimous vote. So, let’s all have a seat again to discuss all the details we’ll need to work out in adding Melania.”

An hour later, having completed every detail of the plan, the group again disperses and exits the remote cabin. Normally, several of the imperious moguls would have a driver ready to transport them to their destinations. But the nature of this meeting was far too covert to risk having any witnesses. So, each tycoon drives himself.

With just the three remaining in the secluded cabin, Yarvin, in his typically cold manner, grins, nods faintly, and declares to Theil and Vance, “So it begins.”

Three weeks later…

“President Trump and the First Lady Are Dead,” the worldwide headlines herald in huge, eye-catching font.

As Marine One, the White House helicopter, transported President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump toward their Mar-a-Lago destination, it exploded directly over a suburban section of Richmond, Virginia. Aboard the flight were the pilot, co-pilot and the First Couple. All died.

Minutes later, feigning outrage, newly installed President Vance, standing directly behind the resolute desk in the Oval Office, fists clenched and eyes glaring, fumes, “Moments ago, because of the urgency of the matter, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, officially swore me in as the new President of the United States.” Vance pauses for effect before resuming.

Preliminary findings indicate that the explosion that killed our beloved President, Donald John Trump, and his lovely wife, Melania, was not an accident, and we can easily guess who was responsible for this heinous act. The radical Antifa-based leftists have gone too far with this abominable assassination. We have tried, to no avail, to engage peacefully with these radical Marxists. Peaceful engagement is finished. My first official order of business as President was to direct FBI Director Patel and Attorney General Bondi to begin—as their number-one priority—an immediate, comprehensive investigation into this atrocious act of violence. It is my solemn promise that we will leave no stone unturned in this investigation. Every person who participated in this evil plot will be brought to justice.

Vance then turns to Press Secretary Leavitt. “Karoline has been briefed on the available information and will now take your questions. But please remember that this tragedy occurred mere hours ago, so she likely will not be able to answer every question you might ask.”

Vance surrenders the podium to Leavitt and walks down the hall toward Theil and Yarvin. The three nod simultaneously and make their way back to the Oval Office, where Patel and Bondi await their orders.

The round-up is about to begin…
